With the opening of the water pump in July 2015, this 7 year old kid and many others living on the hill tract of Adarshagram, Jaintapur, Sylhet do not climb up anymore the steep, rough slippery road of about 400 feet to get water for the family. Now these kids are going to school, having happy and safe childhood, poised to build a meaningful life. Instead of water pitchers, now they carry school bags. This project will transform the lives of 300 families, mothers, now have preserved water in reservoir having a capacity of 15,000 liters on the top of the hill. Now they have time to take care of small kids, fetch water and do household work while adult children attend school. This project has put an end to the inhuman, hard and laborious water lifting by women and children and reduced physical problems.
NGO Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS-RES) has taken the responsibility for the installation, supervision, troubleshooting and maintenance of the project.
