BSRM and The British Council

Research shows that ‘reading’ helps in vocabulary expansion, improves memory and cognitive skills and promotes stronger analytical and thinking skills. Also, reading is fun and it is one of the best ways of learning a new language by developing its four main core skills; reading, writing, speaking and listening.

A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between BSRM Foundation and The British Council on enhancing the English Reading Skills through Book Reading Competition. The British Council Library is organizing Book Reading Competition to develop the reading habit, especially in English, and to help acquire English language skill among young learners and adult students.
Under this partnership program, we expect that by the end of 2016, 17, 500 young students, 70% of the target of 25, 000, will show an enhanced capacity in English reading, writing, speaking and listening which will enable them to express their thoughts and ideas better. BSRM intends to continue this partnership to reach under privileged students in remote areas as part of its objective to contribute in ‘building the nation’.
