Mun Summ Wong co-founded the Singapore-based architectural practice WOHA in 1994. He is a Professor in Practice at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Architecture and co-directs the Integrated Sustainable Design Masters Studio. He was also appointed to the Seidler Chair in the Practice of Architecture at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He sits on the Nominating Committee of the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, the Design Advisory Board of DesignSingapore Council as well as a Member of the CTBUH Masters of Tall Building and Vertical Urbanism Advisory Panel, in collaboration with the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Farooq Ameen is the founding principal of City Design Studio, a Los Angeles based architecture and urban design practice dedicated to revitalizing communities. He is the author/editor of numerous publications that include deCoding Asian Urbanism, Fifty Under Fifty, Innovators of the 21st Century, and The South Asian Paradigm. Ameen has held academic appointments at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (Los Angeles & Lugano), Calpoly Pomona, and Woodbury University, among others. He is a member of the Board of Directors at the Architecture and Design Museum in Los Angeles, and the US Council on Open Buildings. He has lectured widely, including at the Bauhaus, Dessau, Harvard, Columbia, Xian University, and UCLA. His recent project experience includes the Intuit Dome Plaza Buildings in Inglewood, California, the Shanghai Zizhu Mixed Use District Urban Design Plan in Shanghai, China, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics Venue Development Plans in Los Angeles, California and the King Fahd City Center Urban Design Plan on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. He received a Master of Architecture from UCLA, and a Bachelor of Architecture from BUET. He was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects in 2025.

Saif Ul Haque (b.1958) is a Dhaka based architect involved in practice, research and education.He studied architecture at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology at Dhaka. He is the principal of Saif Ul Haque Sthapatiand his works include residential, institutional and industrial facilities at different locations in Bangladesh. His works have been published and exhibited in and outside Bangladesh and a few of his works have received awards in and outside Bangladesh.
Besides practice, he has been a visiting faculty and reviewer at various institutions in Bangladesh and abroad. He is a founder member of the Chetana society formed by a group of architects that included Muzharul Islam in the early 1980s. He coauthored the books ‘Pundranagar to Sherebanglanagar: Architecture in Bangladesh’ (1997) and Sherebanglanagar:
Louis I. Kahn and the making of a Capital Complex (2002).

The exhibition will showcase the best final-year thesis projects from architecture students across Bangladesh. This is a platform to highlight exceptional academic work and innovative design solutions developed by the next generation of architects.

Jury Panel

Ar. Jalal Ahmed is the Past President of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (2019–20) and Immediate Past Vice-President (Asia) of the Commonwealth Association of Architects. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Korean Institute of Architects and formerly served as Honorary Secretary of ARCASIA (2009–10).
He is a founding member of CHETANA and the Muzharul Islam Foundation and was on the Executive Board of the Bengal Institute (2015–18). Jalal has received numerous accolades, including the AAA Gold Medal (2018), Lafarge-Holcim Asia Pacific Sustainable Design Award (2017), INTBAU Award (2015), IAB Design Award (2017), and Berger Award (2015).
He has won multiple design competitions, including those for the Mujib Nagar Memorial (1984), North South University Campus (2002), and Franco-German Embassy with ECDM (2009). His work has been showcased globally, including in exhibitions in Switzerland, France, Germany, and at the Dhaka Art Summit.
He has lectured internationally and taught part-time at BUET, BRAC University, Khulna University, AIUB, and UAP. A BUET graduate (1983), he founded J A Architects Ltd. in 1997. Over his 39-year career, his work has spanned academic campuses, community housing, and advanced architectural projects, often inspired by tradition and culture.
Jalal Ahmed also champions socially responsible design and currently serves as the founding Chairperson of SONGJOG and a founding EC Member of the BUET Graduates Club.

Mamnoon Murshed Chowdhury is a Dhaka-based architect and one of the founding principals of DWm4 Architects and its interior design wing, DWm4 Intrends Ltd. Several of their architectural and interior design projects have received both national and international recognition.

He graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1995 and has taught as a visiting faculty member at the University of Asia Pacific and Brac University. He served as a Juror in two cycles of the Berger Award Program for the Students of Architecture BUET.

Ar. Chowdhury has served the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) in various roles, most recently as Vice President (National Affairs) during the 2018–2020 tenure. Representing IAB, he contributed to the drafting and editing of key regulatory and professional documents such as the Imarot Nirman Bidhimala, the Bangladesh National Building Code, IAB Standard Contracts, IAB Code of Ethics, and the IAB Employment Handbook.

Ar. Chowdhury is also a co-founder of Latitude-23, a leading architectural visualization firm, and
Brainstation-23, one of Bangladesh’s largest IT enterprises

Catherine Daisy Gomes (PhD), Professor, Housing and Settlement Division, DoA, BUET. Graduated from BUET in 1992. Completed M Arch and PhD from BUET with Commonwealth Split-site Scholarship UK, 2010 for partial PhD studies in Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, UK. Her PhD was on contemporary residential apartments in Dhaka, focusing on gender aspects using VGA and JPG of Space Syntax Methodology to address the social and gender issues related to housing.

Dr Gomes does research in Urban and Rural Housing, Resilient Dwellings, Domestic Architecture focusing on Gender issues, Space Syntax Analysis (VGA and JPG), Architectural History, and Church Architecture. Coordinator of Housing and Settlement Division, Head of Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) of the DoA, BUET. Guided the students and acted as a Tutor in Designing Resilience in Asia (DRIA) for 2018, 2019 and 2020, involved in designing cyclone shelters of CARITAS Bangladesh as an advisory committee member, conducted in-depth research on the ethnic communities of CHT as Lead Researcher in “Homes and Communities in Bangladesh: Community-Based Approaches and Local Materials & Techniques for the Disaster Resilient Shelters of Chittagong Hill Tracts Area” funded by Caritas Bangladesh, CRS (March 2021- August 2023).

Dr Gomes started her architectural career in 1992 with Diagram Architects, Dhaka and later with Hiraman Associates in Chittagong. After joining BUET in 1997, she was involved in architectural works through CAF-BRTC of BUET and was the team leader of the architecture design in Feasibility Study and Detailed Design for Development of Jetties and Infrastructure at Chittagong, BRTC, BUET, Feasibility Study with ESIA for Resuscitation of ICHAMOTI RIVER in PABNA district, with IWFM, BRTC, BUET, and the new Notre Dame University Building at Motijheel, Dhaka.

Graduating in 2001 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), M. Arefeen Ibrahim was awarded with Gold medal for best academic performance in Architecture. He is also the recipient of prestigious F.R. Khan Scholarship. Later he finished his MS from USA in 2004 and started teaching career. Currently he is holding responsibility as the Head of Architecture program at AIUB. He is the Principal Architect at archiWORKS Consultants in Dhaka as well. Mr. Ibrahim’s interest ranges from Architectural History, Urban Design issues to Digital Architecture, Graphical Representation etc. He has a good number of research publications in local & international journals and conference proceedings as well. He has served as Education Secretary for the Executive Council of Institute of Architects Bangladesh [IAB] from 2019 to 2022. He represented Bangladesh at multiple international forums including Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA). Mr. Ibrahim has been invited as juror for multiple national and international Design Competitions and Award Programs. He is actively involved in accreditation process and quality assurance activities at the tertiary level of education. Mr. Ibrahim is a regular Reviewer for different renowned international and local Journals too. He is very well travelled and loves to explore new destinations of architectural interest.

Dr. Sajal Chowdhury completed his PhD at the Melbourne School of Design, Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, University of Melbourne, Australia. His doctoral research focused on Environmental Experience Design (EXD). He holds a B.Arch and M.Arch from BUET, Bangladesh, and an M.Eng in Human Thermal Environment from Hokkaido University, Japan, where he was a MEXT Scholar. Dr. Chowdhury currently serves as an Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Architecture, CUET, Bangladesh. He was also a Research Architect at GrACe, BUET. With extensive expertise in building environmental simulation tools and techniques, his work bridges environmental design, building energy performance, comfort, and indoor environmental quality (IEQ). He has authored numerous publications in international journals, conferences, and seminars, particularly on Environmental Experience Design, building energy, thermal comfort, and IEQ. In recognition of his contributions to simulation research, he received the prestigious Building Simulation Group Award in 2016 from the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). Dr. Chowdhury is also Founding Director (Bangladesh Chapter): ZEMCH EXD Network and Founding Initiator: Researchitect Platform.
