Water For Coastal Area, South Bangladesh (Uttaran)

The lack of source of safe drinking water in their living areas means they have to carry water from long distances which is really difficult to manage.It reduces their water problem.

The school going children in carrying water over long distances always miss school and fall behind their education.As children start this hard labour from early age and their physical growth is hampered. The project will reduce haphazard of the school going children.
There is high risk of pregnant women and sometimes miscarriages while lifting heavy pots of water.The project will bring safety to the pregnant women.

Project Location: 25 Villages under 10 Upazilas of Barisal, Patuakhali, Borguna, and Bhola District.
Number Of Beneficiaries: The project will benefit near about 2000 families.

The project has had a positive impact on our target users in several ways. Firstly, we are now serving 12,000 target users, who are now accessing potable water at 60% cheaper than the existing market price. In the next phase, this will reach nearly 50,000 people over six sub-districts in 5 Satkhira and Khulna regions .

Ensure regular supply of saline free safe water for driniking and household work ,create opportunities for women to engage in income generating work,school chidren to carry school bags instead of water pitcher ,prevent suffering from water related health problems and save cost on medicine

With support from BSRM, the organization has been able to extract and store up to 60,000 liters of water in just 2.5 hours.
