In 2016, BSRM introduced 80 grade steel reinforcement with the brand name of BSRM Maxima which conforms to the U.S standard ASTM A706-16 Grade 80 and BDS ISO 6935-2: 2016. BSRM Maxima is exactly the material for construction of projects which needs extra strength combined with added safety measure. It has minimum Yield strength of 80,000 psi [550MPa] and Tensile strength of minimum 100,000 psi [690 MPa] along with a minimum TY ratio of 1.25. The higher strength steel further provides “congestion relief” in any construction member which ensures better concrete placing & compaction, thus making it ever safer & economical.
BSRM Maxima grade 80 reinforcing steel is appropriate for application in country’s growing infrastructure like power plants, large river crossing bridges, water retaining structure, flyovers, high rise building and rail roads.
- Standard: BSRM Maxima which conforms to the U.S standard ASTM 706-15 Grade 80 and ISO 6935-2: 2015.
- Yield strength: 80,000 psi [550MPa]
- Tensile strength: 105,000 psi [725MPa].
- Salient Features: The use of Grade 80 rebar instead of Grade 60 reduces steel consumption up to 20% in RC structures. BSRM Maxima grade 80 steel is safer as it has much higher elongation exceeding 16%, in all sizes.
The higher strength steel further provides “congestion relief” in bridge piers which ensures better concrete compaction, thus making it ever safer.
