BSRM proudly inaugurated its state-of-the-art new Steel Plant on 1st February, 2025 at Jorarganj, Mirsharai, Chattogram marking a significant milestone in advancing the steel manufacturing industry of Bangladesh.
The Honorable Adviser Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan, Ministry of Industries & Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. H.E. Mr. Antonio Alessandro, the Ambassador of Italy in Bangladesh and Honorable Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain of Chattogram City Corporation were present as Special Guests. The Chief Guest, The Special Guests, Mr. Naser Ezaz Bijoy, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Alamgir Morshed, ED & CEO of IDCOL, Mr. ICHIGUCHI Tomohide, JICA Head, Mr. Hassan O. Rashid, CEO, Prime Bank Ltd, Mr. Andrea Diasparro, Executive Vice President of Danieli gave their speech. From BSRM Chairman Mr. Alihussain Akberali FCA, Managing Director Mr. Aameir Alihussain and Mr. Abdul Qadir Zohair were among the other speakers. Finance Director Mr. Zohair Taherali, Deputy Managing Director Mr. Tapan Sengupta, other BSRM Senior Officials accompanied the distinguished leaders and industry experts. The new steel plant tour showcased the operational excellence, commitment towards innovation and development to the guests.
The new steel plant is designed to boost production capacity, ensuring a robust supply of high-quality steel to meet the growing demands of infrastructure projects and housing sector across Bangladesh. The BSRM plant incorporates cutting-edge environmental technologies, including an advanced Air Pollution Control (APC) system to ensure clean air emissions and a water treatment and recycling facility. This development underscores BSRM’s role in fostering local economic growth and supporting the nation’s vision for modernization.
